The Adobe company was started in 1982 by John Warnock and Charles Geschke.  John Warnocks wife, Marva, designed the logo, but the logo has been modified to its current version which is red and white.  I do like the new logo more than the old one, but perhaps this is because it is brighter.  While the logos loosely resemble one another, they are still very different from one another. While this may have effected the logos recognition in the eye of the general public it doesn't seem to have effected to popularity of the company itself.
